Who Wears the Pants in Your House?

Having family come to spend the weekend always makes for an interesting time.  Doesn’t matter if the visitors are family members you enjoy spending time with or family members that, even if you don’t verbalize it, you feel confident should be sporting a new white jacket that features long sleeves tied securely in the back.  (For the record, I do not have, nor have I ever had, any members of my family, extended family, family by marriage, or extended family by marriage that fit the second description!)

Look Behind the Curtain

If you listen to The Sideliners Show each week you might wonder how the show happens with Chris living in Michigan and Matt living in Nebraska.  Some would question if living in Nebraska is really living at all but that’s another blog for another time.  To give you an idea of how we pull off the show each week we’re going to give you a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the show.

Because we host the show through BlogTalkRadio all we have to do is call into the host website each week, log-on and host the show with from the phone.  No mics needed, no special equipment, etc.  This is what allows the guys to do the show from anywhere.

Locks, Shocks, & Jocks - Week 4 of the NFL

Locks

New Orleans will roll over the Jets handing Mark Sanchez & Rex Ryan their first losses as professionals.  The Jets will be without 2 starting DB’s and that just spells trouble against the league’s highest scoring team.  The Jets will keep it interesting but not enough for the win.  The Saints keep marching for another week!

The next team is the Giants over the Chiefs.  While the Giants haven’t looked stellar, the Chiefs have looked abysmal since week 1.  It will not take 4 turnovers by the Chiefs for the Giants to get the win, but don’t be surprised if the Chiefs do turn it over that many times.  Look for the front four of the Giants to get constant pressure on Cassell all day and for the running game to go no where.  It doesn’t get much better for the Chiefs as they get the Cowboys next week.  My advise to Chief fans, run for cover the next couple of weeks!

Hava = Good Day

I remember growing up in Boston I used to switch the top dial on the TV to U, just past channel 13, right before channel 2. Then I’d turn the bottom dial to WQTV Channel 68 and watch Hogan’s Heroes after lunch. Jawohl, Commandant! Those were the days!

Technology has advanced a little bit since then. Not only can I watch any NFL game live each week with my DirecTV Sunday Ticket subscription but the last two weeks I’ve watched the Patriots on my computer since I was away from my TV and barcalounger . When I realize I forgot to schedule the DVR to record a show I simply do it from my iPhone from work or the airport or wherever.

Ok, maybe it has been a while since my days growing up in Boston.

Locks, Shocks, & Jocks for Week 2 of the NFL

As we look forward to Week 2 in the NFL the crack research staff here at the Sideliners Show and I poured over scouting reports and historical matchups to bring you a preview of Sunday in the first edition of “Locks, Shocks, & Jocks.”

First the LOCKS.  Two teams that will definitely win on Sunday are the Washington Redskins and the Green Bay Packers.  The Redskins play the inept St. Louis Rams.  The Rams failed to score a point last week and don’t look for them to score too many points this week.  Washington’s D will be all over Steven Jackson, the only real threat on offense.  Look for Washington to stack 8 in the box and make the Rams beat them through the air.
